Private Lessons with Sarah Richardson

Stop the spread of illness.

Please cancel/reschedule if you are experiencing active illness, especially fever and respiratory symptoms that more easily spread to others.

PAYMENT

Lesson payment must be made in full on or before each scheduled lesson. A grace period of 7 days will be observed, after which a $10 late fee will be applied. More than two missed payments will result in discontinuation of lessons.

SCHEDULING

Students should email or call to set up a time that works best. Students can sign up for a lesson time online at my booking page which I update periodically, so please email if you do not see any availability on my booking page. Rescheduling must be done at least 24 hours in advance. The lesson will be forfeited if unable to make it up within two weeks.

MISSED LESSONS

You must give notification of a missed lesson at least 24 hours in advance. I can be contacted by text, phone call, or email. If I am not notified at least 24 hours in advance, the lesson will not be made up.

Sudden Illness or Emergencies Exception:

If you are planning to come to your lesson, but wake up on the day of your lesson with a sudden sore throat or other sudden illness, please do not come to your lesson sick. Emergencies happen, and I trust in mutual, honest communication. Your health is important to me, and we all need to do our best not to spread illness to others. I will do my best to reschedule missed lessons due to sudden illness and emergencies. Anything more than two consecutive missed lessons due to sudden illness or emergencies will not be made up.

NO-SHOWS: If you do not show up for a lesson and do not notify me of your absence, you will receive a warning. After the third offense, future lessons will be canceled, and no makeups or refunds will be given.

If a student decides to discontinue lessons, he or she must notify me at least one week in advance of the last lesson. There will be no refunds for discontinuing lessons that have already been paid for and scheduled.

PERFORMANCES & COMPETITIONS and their extra costs

I will inform students about performance opportunities and competitions I recommend for their experience level. Students that participate in these performance opportunities will be asked to pay accompanist fees* and/or contest entry fees.

*Any student preparing for a performance or competition must hire a professional accompanist to attend at least two lessons before the performance or competition.
