The song lyrics are the adapted texts of Nellie Kedzie Jones's series of "Dear Janet" articles which appeared in The Country Gentleman farm magazine c. 1912-1918. 

This work was premiered on September 25th, 2016 in the dining hall of UW-Extension’s Lowell Center in Madison, Wisconsin.
